Welcome to Tuesday Tips, a weekly collection of ways to act, think, feel and be positive. This week, the tips are focused on doing less and allowing more. From health advice from a 9-year-old, to instructions on how to channel god into your creations, this batch of uplifting ideas will give you some powerful tools to shift your reality into the experience you desire.
1. There is nothing you can do.
If you want something, but taking action about it feels forced or not in the flow, just let it go! When the time is right, action will be pulled through you and wild horses won’t be able to stop you. If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t! If you have to ask, it isn’t time. Like Lil Wayne says, “I’mma get it when it’s time to get it.”
2. Do something crazy!
You know it feels amazing to stop caring about what other people think and just be wild! Shake it up and let yourself act on one of your nutty impulses— it might feel scary, but it will bring you a brand new perspective and the respect of those less courageous around you!
3. Work together.
My 9-year-old friend Janie contributed this one. Teamwork always helps everything go faster and be more fun. If you have an opportunity to work around other people, take it! And take advantage of any opportunity to help others—you’ll feel good, learn new things and make friends.
4. Healthy habits make the days easier.
Janie gave me this one too! As she made herself a Boca burger and salad for dinner, she explained how choosing healthy habits makes going through your day smoother. Healthy habits = feeling good about yourself = fewer negative thoughts to release.
5. Keep your attention on yourself and you won’t crave it from others.
How do you give yourself attention? You make the choice in every moment to pay attention to how you feel and adjust accordingly. You can also just watch yourself, feel your body, or follow your breath.
6. Think of money as a girl.
You know when you’re trying too hard to date someone, and you try to think of ways to talk to the person? Yeah… that never works out. You have to be focused on doing you and your love interest will always come to you. Money is exactly the same. Don’t try to think of ways to make money, because that’s taking action when you’re not inspired. Just focus on doing youand the money will find you.
7. When you experience contrast, tell the universe, “Thanks for telling me I had something in my teeth.”
When something happens that you don’t like, it’s just the universe showing you yourself. Take it as a blessed indicator of your vibration, because now you know where you stand. You’re in control of what you project, so you’re in control of what reflects back to you.
8. Think of life design as a sport.
If you want to be good at something you have to practice. If you want to be a pro, you have to work your ass off. So how do you train to be a pro at life design? Ultimately, you aim to practice in every moment. Practice can include things like writing and meditation, but it all comes down to paying attention to how you feel in every moment and adjusting your thoughts accordingly.
9. If you feel like you don’t give enough, make a list of all the things you do give.
Sometimes I feel like I’m not putting enough of myself online. I push myself to be more open, more prolific, and more creative. But when I voiced this concern to Kelly, she started listing all the things I do publish to the Internet—Tuesday Tips, daily meditations, podcasts, photos, gratitude posts, artwork, School of Life Design posts, etc. And I give it all to the public domain. The list made me feel way better! Notice the things you are doing right and you’ll effortlessly attract more.
10. Feel excited when you have contrast.
When you experience things you don’t want, you can instantly turn it around by telling yourself, “This is just an iteration. Now I know what I want, and I know what I want is always flowing into my experience.”
11. Channel your creations.
Do you ever have creative block? Yeah, me too. Until I realized I can just channel. Channeling is letting life live you, like letting god take over the controls. Try this exercise: decide what you want to create and go to the appropriate environment to do it. Sit down and say, “Dear Universe, I’m allowing your inspiration to flow through me. Please guide my hands in this work.” Begin doing whatever comes to mind. Don’t argue or fuss about what “comes to you,” just give it a shot. You’ll be doing your best work, and it will be effortless.
12. Stop chasing! Let it come to you!
Any time you chase something, whether it be money, a relationship, a job, or health, you are sending this signal to the universe: “I don’t have this!” And when you tell the universe you don’t have something, it has no choice but to bring you exactly that. To stop chasing something, just stop, like you would stop running. A more concrete approach is to picture the thing you want and say “I don’t care if I ever get that” and forget about it.
